Why British English ?

Because English is so widely spoken, it has often been referred to as a "global language", the lingua franca of the modern era. While English is not an official language in many countries, it is currently the language most often taught as a second language around the world.

There are many different forms of English depending on where you are in the world, so why did Global Comrades choose British English as its "official language"?

The UN standard for English language documents (United Nations Editorial Manual) follows British usage and Oxford spelling. Oxford spelling is the de facto spelling standard used in style guides of international organisations that belong to the UN System. In addition, UN treaties and declarations, such as the Universal Declaration of Human Rights generally follow Oxford spelling.
