So, I think I learned a solid lesson this week. It is about something I think we all know, but it really sunk in this week, and that is why I am calling it a "solid" lesson. As I was thinking, I thought, "why do people believe something, just because someone said it the loudest?" It is really quite strange, you would think as humans, humans with a brain, we would realize that just because someone is speaking the loudest doesn't mean the thing they are saying somthing right or true. But, it seems that most people in society today, think, "well, they said that very loud, I heard it, and the other side didn't say it as loud, so the loudest must be true." Duh- not the case, why don't we all try to be intelligent and really think about something- don't just believe the loudest opinion because they are shouting. I think in my life I have found the opposite to be true, usually the things and opinions I usually hold valuable, are the ones that I have to be quiet and focus on to hear. Pay attention- do you believe the loudest person just because you can hear them????

I have found that to be true, also. Sometimes, when I have been in an argument, the other person just keeps talking louder and louder. It dawned on me that that person thought he was "winning" the argument because he could speak louder and faster. I, too have found that those who are respectful and have something worthwhile to listen to, speak in moderate, nonthreatening tones.
